LIST PICK
CREEPING JEAN I FEEL LOVE
Creeping Jean, a garage indie rock band made up of musicians hailing from Sheffield, Brazil, Munich, Hull via Limoges and London, have dropped a live version of their new track ‘I Feel Love’. Their cover of the Donna Summer classic is a perfect reflection of the band’s live energy - with those gritty blues guitar riffs colliding with a thick, wandering bass line and punchy drums. At the top sits the soaring voice of Oliver Tooze, who channels heroes like Robert Plant and Mick Jagger into his swaggering delivery. On the choice of cover, guitarist Rod Bourganos says: “Having fallen madly in love, I couldn't help but suggest ‘I Feel Love’. We also all agreed on it and hence I avoided some of the other suggestions that were on the table! Now we have a version of ‘I Feel Love’ that we're proud of! Might even make the set list at the new tour dates next year.” Creeping Jean have released an electrifying new EP, Live: Business At The Barn, from which this track is taken. It also contains live versions of tracks from their acclaimed second album. -Dan Peeke
